Outsourcing developed to the next level: With transformational outsourcing companies are modernizing their ICT landscapes, improving their business processes and reducing their costs – not only their IT costs but also their process costs.
ICT must help companies to be fit for new business opportunities and to reduce costs – this is more relevant than ever today. However, instead of this many companies are battling with complex IT landscapes which have grown over time. These IT landscapes are expensive to maintain and for some time now they have not mapped all the business processes in the ideal way. T-Systems has now developed traditional outsourcing to another level – to transformational outsourcing. The principle: We as the service provider take on our customers’ ICT landscapes, which we can then operate more cost effectively through economies of scale or models like Dynamic Services. Then part of the savings can go towards a fundamental transformation of the ICT architecture, the applications and services. Modernization can thus be financed through outsourcing.
Looking at process costs as well for the first time
However, that is by no means all. The modernized and simplified ICT landscape makes it possible for the costs for its operation to be reduced again – by an additional 30 per cent (approx.) compared with traditional outsourcing. In addition, the ICT transformed in this way provides for more efficient and streamlined processes in the company – it is here that the lion’s share of the savings is to be found initially. At the same time, the improved processes ensure greater quality and efficiency in the workflows. As T-Systems also optimizes the wide range of suppliers as their service provider, the customer maintains a better overview here and can make use of the advantages of offshore with a targeted multisourcing strategy, for example. In this way, transformational outsourcing supports companies at all levels and ensures one thing above all else: greater competitiveness – even in post-crisis periods.
